From 1970 until the end of his life, his paintings were devoted to the testimonial line and the critic expressed in the Symbolic Realism, with a noticeable concern towards Andalusia. Amalio needed to shape his more personal convictions through his painting and denounce the suffering and the mistreatment, or even go beyond reality with pictorial metaphors. The artist achieves a religious mission by filling his work with social spirituality.
Some examples of his Symbolic Realism are “Detachable poor”, “Andalusians of burden”, “The chained bread”, or “My Death is born with me” among others.
